Memorial Biography

Leonard V. Schneider, Jr., went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2020. He passed peacefully with family by his side. Leonard was preceded in death by his beloved Wife Hella Schneider, They were married for 68 plus years. His parents: Leonard V, Schneider, Sr. and Martha E. Schneider, and his brother Howard J. Schneider. Leonard is survived by his Daughter Martha Reed, and husband Eddie, Daughter Rita Barton, Son Leonard V. Schneider, and wife Kari; Grandchildren: Monica Dedmon and husband Derrick, Alicia Barton, Randi and husband Ricky Brasuell, Taylor Golden, Michelle Hotte, Kim Lyons and husband Robbi, Chris Reed; Great Grand Children: Madison and Will Garcia, Carrie and Audrey Dedmon, Katlin, Macy and Nicholas Lyons, Lauren, John and Garrett Hotte, Landon and Bordy Reed, Rylan and Regan Brasuell. Numerous nieces and nephews. Dad lived thru the Great Depression, served during the Korean War, stationed in Germany with the occupational army where he met his love and wife Hella. Leonard and his wife moved Pasadena, Texas a couple of years later then moved to Highlands, Texas. He served as a deacon in First Baptist Church and at retirement, they moved to San Marcos, Texas where they enjoyed country living and working with the German community in New Braunfels, Texas, especially the Wurstfest. He enjoyed wearing the traditional attire of Germany at the festival. They also enjoyed the beautiful countryside from San Antonio to Kerrville, Texas. While living in San Marcos They attend the First Lutheran Church where they was very active in Meals on Wheels and ushering at Sunday services. Leonard and Hella were very active in the Lutheran Brotherhood Ministries. After 20 plus years, they moved back to the Houston area and settled in Porter, Texas where they attended the Second Baptist Church. They were active in all their children’s, grandchildren’s, and great grandchildren’s lives. Dad enjoyed life, family, children, and faith in the Lord. Christmas was his favorite holiday because the house was full of love and the laugher of life. His wisdom and steadfastness and his love of the USA were great. He instilled in his family, faith and belief. Leonard will be laid to rest with an Outside chapel service on Monday October 26, at 3 pm at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery 8624 Garth Rd in Baytown, Texas, with his wife, mother and father. Pallbearers: Leonard Schneider, Eddie Reed, Derrick Dedmon, Will Garcia, Ricky Brasuell and Michael Chavez.
